Our Story — Family Florists Since 1871

Some businesses are built in a season. Ours has been growing for over 150 years.

The Temple & Belton Flower Market - Circa 1908

The story of Temple & Belton Flower Delivery begins not in Texas, but on the shores of San Francisco Bay, where two Italian families of florists set down roots in 1871 and 1880. Over the generations that followed, that single shop grew into a name woven into the fabric of the city: Podesta Baldocchi Flowers and Pelicano, Rossi & Co. Over the years Pelicano, Rossi & Co. became known as Rossi & Rovetti Flowers. Today, Rossi & Rovetti remains a thriving, five-star-rated San Francisco institution — independently documented and beloved by the community it has served for more than a century and a half. You can read about its history at our San Francisco flagship's About page, and the shop's heritage has been independently noted on Wikipedia.

The People Behind the Flowers

Our Family Enjoying a Cool Winter Day in a Local Texas State Park

Stephanie and Jason come from two different families — but both are connected to the floral industry that stretches back to 1871. That shared heritage is what brought them together, and it's what still drives every arrangement that leaves our studio.

Stephanie trained as a fine artist and art educator and spent fifteen years working as a professional artist and educator before finding her true calling with flowers. That artistic eye — honed through years of studying form, color, and composition — is the reason our arrangements look the way they do. The European and Italian-style aesthetic that defines Temple & Belton Flower Delivery isn't a trend we adopted. It's a sensibility Stephanie grew up with and refined over decades.

Jason arrived at the florist world by a different path. He holds a BS in Computer Science and Physics from the University of the Pacific and an MBA from Stanford, and he spent the better part of his career at VP-level roles in Big Tech. Smart money would have said to stay, but the pull of something real — something that had lasted 130 years before he ever touched a keyboard — proved stronger than quarterly earnings calls. In 2003, when Jason began stepping in to help the San Francisco store, he brought floristry into the tech age with one of the first floral websites that you could order online from in San Francisco.

From San Francisco to Temple & Belton

For years, Jason and Stephanie ran the San Francisco store while building a life together. Then, roughly ten years ago, Jason stepped away from Big Tech entirely. The couple made a deliberate choice to move their family to Texas — to slower streets, warmer winters, and a city that reminded them why local businesses matter in the first place.

Rossi & Rovetti in San Francisco didn't close. It didn't need to. Family members continue to run the shop on their behalf, keeping the 1871 legacy alive at its original home. The flagship is still there, still thriving, still carrying the same name it always had.

What changed is that Jason and Stephanie brought that same philosophy — obsessive care, artistic intention, same-day freshness — to a new city. Temple & Belton Flower Delivery launched in 2026 as the newest branch of this 150-year plus family story. We are not a wire service. We are not a drop shipper. We are a family-owned local florist whose roots go deeper than most businesses in this city have been open.

Why It Matters

When you order from Temple & Belton Flower Delivery & Florist, you're not clicking through a national clearinghouse that farms your order out to whoever picks up the phone. You're working with a family that has been doing this — just this, flowers, nothing else — since Ulysses S. Grant was president.

Every arrangement is designed in-house. Every delivery is made same-day. Every stem is chosen for quality, not convenience. That's not a marketing promise. It's 150 years of habit.

We're proud to be part of Temple & Belton. We're even prouder of where we came from.
